Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! As you well know, from time to time I also love to listen to young adult audiobooks and today I’m really excited to tell you that Augie Sweetwater and the Time-Will-Tell Tale, the second book in the excellent Sweetwater YA Saga, has made its way into our favorite format. Even more exciting for me is the fact that I truly enjoyed the first adventure and I can’t wait to spend more time with Augie and his friends.

Just like Augie Sweetwater and the Dolphin’s Tale, before it, Augie Sweetwater and the Time-Will-Tell Tale is written by talented author William Harrigan. The audio production is a little over five hours in duration and it is a real pleasure to see excellent narrator and voiceover artist Caleb Summers returning to the series for another round of epic adventures, as I really enjoyed his performance of Augie Sweetwater and the Dolphin’s Tale.

As always, I highly recommend that before we move on, we take a look at the short Publisher’s Summary for Augie Sweetwater and the Time-Will-Tell Tale. After that, I will re-introduce you to our esteemed author and narrator.

The popular Augie Sweetwater saga continues in this second installment as Augie, Mika, and Coop use their wits, and of course Augie’s incredible inventions, to solve a pair of mysteries that have long baffled the police.

Leo the dolphin is also back, along with some new friends from the deep.

Stay tuned to the end of this article because I will unveil how author William Harrigan has been inspired to write these compelling stories.

A 1972 graduate of Yale University, Bill has enjoyed a wide variety of experiences around the world. As an officer in the Army and then the NOAA Corps, he flew helicopters, managed the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary, and headed up NOAA’s Office of Special Operations.

After earning a master’s degree in marine area management from the University of Rhode Island in 1991, he directed the U.S. National Marine Sanctuary Program and later served as head of planning and management for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority in Townsville, Australia.

Bill retired from the NOAA Corps in 1993 to pursue a second career as a photojournalist and marine park consultant. He has written and photographed over 200 articles on diving in the Caribbean, Atlantic and Pacific for Skin Diver, Sport Diver and Alert Diver magazines and also has assisted in setting up marine parks in Kenya, Egypt and Thailand.

Now a full-time novelist, Augie Sweetwater and the Dolphin’s Tale was Bill’s first book in the young adult genre. This story is the first in a planned series following the amazing adventures of a brilliant young inventor and his friends.

Caleb Summers is an enthusiastic performer, baker, dad, and husband. When he is not doing voice work, he can often be found baking breads, spending quality time with his wife, doing jigsaw puzzles, making music, playing with dogs, chasing kids, or seeking solace out in nature.

He has been using his voice publicly on stage, on camera, and on a microphone since he was a boy, and deeply loves the act and art of performance.

As promised, here is what Bill told me when I asked him what was the inspiration behind Augie Sweetwater and the Dolphin’s Tale:

In part, my inspiration for this first Augie Sweetwater story came from some amazing chance encounters that I had with wild dolphins while I was diving or snorkeling. Once an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin came up behind me while I was photographing a small nudibranch deep on wall in the Bahamas

The dolphin looked right over my shoulder, apparently curious about what I was so intently doing. I nearly jumped out of my wetsuit, which seemed to amuse the dolphin. We swam along together for quite awhile after that, I think both enjoying the moment. I often wonder how he or she describes that encounter to friends. I must have seemed like a strange and awkward creature.

I will return with the full review for Augie Sweetwater and the Time-Will-Tell Tale in a couple of weeks but you may remember that I absolutely loved Augie Sweetwater and the Dolphin’s Tale, as both the writing and the narration are excellent! So see you here soon, but until then, take care, stay safe, and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!

We hope that you enjoyed this article and, if you did, that you will share it with your friends on social media.
