Hello again, dear Audiobooks Friends! In today’s article I want to tell you a few things about a new novel that has just recently been released in audiobook format. Brink of Life is the second novel in the trilogy with the same name by Rick Moskovitz.

Brink of Life is an interesting Psychological Sci-Fi Thriller set in the not too distant future. The audiobook production is narrated by Amy J. Johnson and it’s almost 5 hours in duration.

You can learn more about the story from the Publisher’s Summary below:

A woman plunges into consciousness in the midst of what seems like someone else’s life, sending her on a quest to discover who she is and to craft an identity that makes sense within her current circumstances. As she digs into the mystery of her life, she uncovers a top-secret government organization plotting world domination and a clandestine vigilante organization dedicated to destroying it and is caught between these warring factions.

Nobody in her new world is exactly who they appear to be, including herself. Identity, she learns, is complicated and inseparable from the body in which it resides.

Rick Moskovitz is a Harvard educated psychiatrist who taught psychotherapy and spent nearly four decades listening to his patients tell their stories. After leaving practice, he, in turn, became a storyteller, writing science fiction that explores the psychological consequences of living in a world of expanding possibilities, including even the prospect of evading death.

His Brink of Life Trilogy, of which all three novels will be soon available in audiobook format, begins with the quest for immortality in the mid-21st century and concludes with a search for the origin of human life.

His characters deal with enduring moral and emotional struggles against a backdrop of a near future world that is still dealing with environmental crises as it navigates the intersection of human and artificial intelligence. In Shared Madness, he returned to his roots as a psychiatrist to write a first person tale of a psychiatrist who, while treating a psychotic patient, descends into madness and finds himself at the nexus of a deadly mystery.

Mr. Moskovitz has a strong presence on social media, and you can find him on the following channels: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Goodreads, YouTube.

Amy J. Johnson, the narrator, is a bit of an introvert, and the decision to work in the audiobooks industry was a natural extension of her acting background. Her dad (a truck driver and an avid reader) is picky about his narrators, giving her incentive to keep honing her skills and be the kind of storyteller he would enjoy . . . even if he’s not into romance novels.

Amy is a member of the APA (Audiobook Publishers Association), has an in-home studio, has been working with the non-fiction/business guru, Sean Pratt, as a coach in 2020, and has narrated around 40 titles in various genres with a few different publishers. Amy’s full name is quite common, so she started narrating under Carolyn A. Lee. While she hasn’t retired the name or website yet, she may continue to use Carolyn for YA books in the future.

A full review for Brink of Live will be live soon, but until then, take care, stay safe and don’t forget – always listen with your heart!
