Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! Today’s spotlight article features an intense action thriller that I highly recommend to all fans of the old-school Robert Ludlum novels.

See Glass is written by Ido Graf, the audiobook version is narrated by Jarret LeMaster with a runtime of almost 10 hours and it is self-published by the author.

I have already listened to more than half of the audio production and I can say that I am really impressed. A flowing writing style, captivating plot great characters, and exquisite narration make this a completely immersive narrative experience.

Let’s take a look at the Publisher’s Summary to find out more about the story and after that, I will tell you a few things about the author and the narrator.

“If ever a novel was ready to be made into a feature film, it is this one…. It has all the ingredients for the big screen…. You know the kind of film I mean? The ones that usually star Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson…” (Jeremy Ransome, editor, Spalding Guardian)

A former legionnaire had been working as an investigative journalist in Paris. He meets a mysterious American of Jewish and Latino descent by chance when the latter sails into a quiet fishing village nestled in a remote Andalusian bay in the far south of Spain.

The yachtsman, also a former French foreign legionnaire, explained that he had been working in private security and he tells a story that dates back to the dark days of Nazi Germany, and it at first seems to be fictitious. However, the journalist began to question what he had been told. The mystery of the violent deaths of an elderly Swiss gentleman and his two gamekeepers in a lonely house in the English Shires serves as the catalyst as they begin to expose the international political and terrorist conspiracy. The various strands of the frightening story begin to come together. What follows is a life-and-death hunt for a secret that had its birth amid the destruction of Berlin in 1945.

There are those within the spy and security services of the Middle East, Europe, and the United States who struggle to come to terms with the enormity of their theories. Others within the corridors of political power wish to prevent that secret from seeing the light of day. They will stop at nothing to reach that aim. Who are the traitors?

The suspense novel was described as reminiscent of The Odessa File and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. A former US Navy man best described the See Glass thriller as having a style which “is very Tom Clancy. Exciting story line with real-world events as a backdrop. Another Clancy trademark you have is utilizing real-world existing/former agencies and military units.”

This book begs the question: “Is it fiction?”

If you enjoy Ken Follett, John Grisham, Dan Brown or Nelson DeMille then you will love this writer! Ido Graf grew up in the Mediterranean and in the United Kingdom, predominantly in London. Ido and his family were acquainted with the famous author, Graham Greene who is widely acknowledged to be one of the leading English novelists of the 20th century.

After studying for a Bachelor’s degree, Ido went on to study for a Masters, before taking other specialist qualifications. He spent considerable time in military bases in Europe and the Middle East and comes from a police & military background.

Ido has traveled extensively in North & South America and in particular in Columbia (at the invitation of the Columbian government) and Venezuela, Cuba, Europe, Middle East, Africa, the Far East, Russia, and the former Eastern bloc countries.

He was questioned at length in Guinea by the Presidential Guard on spying allegations relating to the Presidential Palace and in Sierra Leone by agents of the state concerning alleged diamond smuggling. Ido and a friend of his once engaged in a shooting competition in the Củ Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City, with John F. Kennedy Jr. while the actress Daryl Hannah watched the three of them as they fired AK-47s. It was an extraordinary, chance encounter when they were traveling in Vietnam in the 1990s.

Ido is a fully qualified scuba diver and skydiver. He is a proficient snowboarder, skier (both downhill and cross-country) and a highly experienced alpinist. He has worked in various sectors for both government departments and private concerns in a variety of sensitive fields in the UK and North America. He worked for short time at Interpol headquarters.

Ido Graf is a writer of mystery and suspense thrillers. His works, which he is now publishing, are derived from his own experiences and from meticulous research. He visits all of the locations that he writes about to maintain the highest standards of realism within his novels.

Though much of his output is contemporary in nature, it frequently has a historical basis at its core. The main focus of his books is on political, terrorism, military intelligence, corporate espionage, thriller. spies and adventure categories.
