It’s All Brett’s Fault by David D. D’Aguanno is available now in Audiobook Format
Hello again, dear Audiobooks fans! This is another spotlight article to let you all know that It’s All Brett’s Fault by David D. D’Aguanno is available now in Audiobook Format. This is the 7th book in the Brett Cornell Series of Mysteries by the author. The audiobook is a little over 8 hours in length and Travis Henry Carter returns once again as the narrator.
As always, I attached the Publisher’s Summary below so that you can make up your mind if you want to give it a try.
Marcus Wade was a man who wasn’t easily intimidated – that is, until he had reason to believe someone was trying to kill him.
Upon talking the matter over with his wife Sybil, he decided to hire someone who would not only protect him, but who would also scare off any potential murderers. In other words, he needed a man who was tough, dangerous – and more than a little unscrupulous.
Enter private detective Brett Cornell, who jumps at the chance to push his weight around on the man’s behalf, but is even more anxious to get it on with the lovely Sybil Wade, as well as her younger and even more voluptuous sister Nora – for starters!
The fun and games come to an abrupt end, however, when someone really ends up dead, and everyone involved agrees: It’s all Brett’s fault!
When asked about this series, the author says the following:
“I started writing the Brett Cornell novels over twenty years ago, which accounts for the 1980s setting of Brett’s adventures. The novels are not meant to be entirely realistic. That is, in the real world, Brett would certainly have been murdered by somebody whom he’d ripped off or victimized in some manner. Plus, it’s highly unlikely that he would get away with even a small amount of the unscrupulous behavior he exhibits, especially since he never pays for anything, and pretty much does exactly as he pleases with little or no regard for the law, or even simple rules of civility.
At the same time, I’m hoping that his wisecracks and outrageous conduct might come across as humorous and entertaining, and a certain catharsis may even be felt when Brett gets what he deserves — which happens more often than not, throughout the course of the nine novels I have completed, so far.”
From his dedicated page on Audible, we find out that David Dennis was born, raised, and educated in Providence, Rhode Island, and chose a career in teaching English in a neighboring city. Ever since he was in fifth grade, he’s enjoyed writing stories of one sort or another, and while attending college, he became immersed in the writing of a gigantic fictional family saga. Much later, he basically extracted one of the sub-plots of that family saga and expanded it into the present novel “Why She Left Us.”
A review will be live in early December, but I always enjoyed this series so I think that there will be no surprises.
