New Western novel The Walking Y by Jeter Isely, out now as audiobook narrated by Jason Markiewitz
Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! Today we are featuring the Western novel The Walking Y written by Jeter Isely which has recently been released in audiobook format. Narrated with style by Jason Markiewitz, the production has a duration of almost nine hours and it is self-published by the author.
You will see from the author’s bio below that he is really in the know when it comes to ranches, cowboys and living an adventurous life. So, let’s take a look at the Publisher’s Summary in order to learn a few things about the story and, of course, do check out more details about the narrator and the writer:
A failing ranch, an irritable old cowboy, and a handful of teenagers standing between him and financial ruin.
With nothing more than a skeleton crew and his 70,000-acre ranch on death watch, Woody finds himself backed into a corner. His neighbor Senator Bell greedily awaits the bankruptcy so he can grab the ranch on the cheap and build the biggest spread in the county. But Woody isn’t out of ideas yet. Determined to pull the ranch back from the brink, he hatches an ingenious plan to snag some orphaned teenagers and put them to work as cowboys.
When Eric and his friends are given the chance to escape their cold orphanage and work on a down-on-its-luck Montana ranch, they jump at the chance. But little do they know how much danger they’d find themselves in. Treacherous farmhands, unpredictable horses, and a complete lack of experience are only the beginning.
But Senator Bell won’t let the ranch slip out of his grip so easily – and he doesn’t care who he has to crush to get it. If bullets and kidnapping don’t do the trick, he and his accomplices have plenty of other nasty tricks up their sleeves to make sure that The Walking Y quickly becomes just another memory….
If you like gripping westerns packed with action, adventure, and a country charm like no other, then you won’t want to miss The Walking Y. Listen today!
Jason Markiewitz has recorded western, mystery, thriller, humor, and romance books, to include narrating for a USA Today and New York Times Bestselling author. In 2020, Jason earned an AudiobookReviewer.com ABR Narrator of the Year award for his work on “The First Consulting Detective.” He currently resides in California with his wife and their three children.
Jeter Isely is the real deal! An actual cowboy, having worked on several ranches in Montana, Jeter is now the proprietor of a 1,280-acre cattle and horse ranch in Northwest Kansas. He is a world traveler who also speaks French, has hitchhiked across the Sahara, stowed away on a Congo River steamer, crossed the Middle East to Singapore, served as a cook in the Australian Outback, ran sheep in New Zealand, and sailed as the first mate on an old wooden 70-foot gaff rig ketch in Tahiti. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from Colgate University, an MBA with distinction from Cornell and was the Director of Finance for a Fortune-500 chemical company in Philadelphia. He resides in Kansas with his wife, Nina, and has two daughters, Cateline and Savannah.
I already started listening to The Walking Y and I find both the writing style and the narration more than enjoyable. I will return soon with a full review, but until then take care, stay safe and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!
