New YA Fantasy novel A Path Amongst The Stars by Mike Duckles, available now as audiobook narrated by Malk Williams
Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! We continue our series of spotlight articles dedicated to new audiobooks with A Path Amongst The Stars, a new young adult fantasy adventure written by Mike Duckles and narrated by talented actor Malk Williams.
With a runtime of almost 11 hours, this promises to be a hilariously funny and entertaining romp through medieval Europe.
I attached the Publisher’s Summary below so that everyone could have a glimpse into the story and after that, I will tell you some things about the author and the narrator.
Spartacus Brink is a Knight Templar, magically transported to a strange and ancient land called Arcadia. Bailey Humblebucket has fallen in love with a kidnapped girl whom he met in a dream. A dark and powerful guardian has raised an army of undead soldiers who will stop at nothing to destroy them all. An ancient magician holds the fate of the Earth in the palm of his hand. And a large shaggy dog is starting to become…really quite peckish.
Join them all for a bareback ride through the undergarments of medieval Europe, stopping only to pillage the humble belongings of a blind beggar, spend the proceeds on drink, and stagger back home exhausted, just in time for a bowl of lentil soup and bed.
Mike Duckles was born in 1966 in Lancaster, UK. Whilst studying English at Lancaster University, he found a passion for Chaucer and all things medieval. Mike now lives in Leicester, UK; he is a father, a musician, and has a constantly hungry chocolate Labrador called Meg. ‘A Path Amongst The Stars’ is Mike’s debut novel.
Malk Williams is a professional voice artist and audiobook narrator in addition to being an accomplished storyteller who has spent years performing in pubs, schools, conventions, and festivals. He has a natural feel for the rhythms of both narrative and verse, as well as a versatile and evocative voice, an excellent ear for accents, and a knack for character voices.
I will return in March with a full review for A Path Amongst The Stars, but until then, take care, stay safe and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!
