Hilariously funny book Nobody Eats Parsley written and read by David Oakley, out now in audio format
Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! Today, I am very excited to share with you the news that a hilariously funny collection of non-fiction short stories is now available in audiobook format on Audible and Amazon. David Oakley the founder and Creative Director of the successful BooneOakley advertising agency has written Nobody Eats Parsley: And Other Things I Learned from My Family and even took the time to record the audiobook himself.
The audio production is a little over 6 hours in duration and I can’t wait to step back into these colorful happenings. And, just to be on the record, I absolutely love parsley!!!
Let’s take a look at the Publisher’s Summary and after that I will tell you more about David:
In Nobody Eats Parsley: And Other Things I Learned from My Family, David Oakley ushers us front and center to the inner circus of his family life. These are stories so ridiculous, you might think they‘re fiction. They‘re not. If you‘re looking for the antidote to 2020 – look no further. Each chapter is filled with hilarious true events from David‘s world, and there‘s a nice life lesson “takeaway” from each.
For example:
The time David went to an X-rated drive-in without realizing his parents were in the next car. Or the time he let his kid throw a rock through their living-room window. Or about the time David bought a camouflage thong in a bait shop. And the chapter about the time he ruined a kid‘s birthday party. And the other time he ruined a kid‘s birthday party. Nobody Eats Parsley is divided into four thematic parts that reveal the roller-coaster life of an advertising creative director, father, friend, and everything in-between. David writes about the absurd realities of life with a nuanced style that is honest, transparent, and memorable.
So, sit back, grab a beer, and let Mr. Oakley take you on a tour of Dave’s world.
David Oakley has been telling brand stories at BooneOakley for years. His first book, Why Is Your Name Upside Down?, is full of stories from his life in advertising. Despite this, he was recently inducted into the North Carolina Advertising Hall of Fame. He lives with his wife Claire and their dog Walter in Charlotte, where they raised their children Sydney and Lucas. He loves his family very much and hopes they still love him after reading this book. You can find out more about David at http://www.davidoakley.com/
