Review: Brink of Life by Rick Moskovitz, read by Amy J. Johnson

The cover of Brink of Life depicting a woman's portrait - half her hair is red, half is black. All on a black and white background.

Brink of Life is the second book in the trilogy with the same name by former clinical psychiatrist, turned talented Thriller and Sci-fi author, Rick Moskovitz. After I listened to and reviewed his other recently released audiobook, Shared Madness, I jumped at the opportunity to dive into this new, interesting series.

Although this is book 2 in the Brink of Life Trilogy, it can be experienced as a standalone listen. Fast-paced, well-written and mysterious, Brink of Life #2 follows the actions of a woman who has woken up in someone else’s body and tries to understand what has happened. I won’t tell you anything more about the story, for fear of spoilers, which I hate!

I’m sure that I’ll figure out more after I get my hands on the first novel, but as I only listen to audiobooks, that will have to wait.

The narration is top notch, with a calm, balanced performance, delivered beautifully by Amy J. Johnson. Amy’s storytelling skills come in handy as she must create the highest level of immersion for such a captivating story. With a clear talent for voices, she manages to keep every character clearly differentiated in the listener’s mind.

If you are looking for a completely immersive narrative experience that will make you wonder where the past 5 hours of your life have gone, pick up this Sci-Fi Thriller and you’ll be left wanting for more, just as I was.
