Review: Red Clay, Yellow Grass by Richard Barager, read by Jon Noto
Red Clay, Yellow Grass is Richard Barager’s second novel. This one is a well written, captivating historical drama set in the 1960’s, that perfectly depicts the way life was in that period.
In Red Clay, Yellow Grass we follow two young lovers as they are pulled into a series of events that will change them forever. From foster homes to college flings, from live concerts, to political rallies and into the Vietnam War, their adventure spans generations.
Actor, stand-up comedian and narrator Jon Noto brings all the characters in Red Clay, Yellow Grass to life with subtle intensity, powered by a versatile, changeable voice. I immediately liked his performance and I consider Jon Noto the perfect choice for this tragic story. He is definitely a talented voice-over artist and I will keep my ear on him.
Filled with vivid descriptions, likable characters, and completely immersive, Red Clay, Yellow Grass by Richard Barager is a Novel of the 1960s that delights and entertains at the same time. Add to that the compelling narration by Jon Noto and you get a 5 star listen on your hands.
