New Sci-Fi novel Light Speed by Rob Dorsey, narrated by Mark William Blessington, available now as Audiobook
Hello again, my dear audiobooks friends! In today’s spotlight, I want to share with you some info about a freshly launched action-adventure Sci-Fi novel, called Light Speed, written by Rob Dorsey. The audiobook production is narrated by Mark William Blessington, it has 15 hours and 42 minutes in duration and is published by Next Chapter Audio Ltd.
From the Publisher’s Summary, we can find our more about the novel’s plot:
In the near future, the first practical faster-than-light spacecraft is developed. Soon after, USS Resolute is sent into her first voyage into interstellar space.
Aboard the superluminal research vessel, Captain Rick Corbett and his first officer, a fully sentient Gen-V AI known as Alice, face challenges and mysteries previously unknown to man. Soon, tensions begin to rise and conflict threatens to tear their team apart.
Can they make their way to Alpha Centauri – and what awaits them there?
Rob Dorsey was born in Athens, Texas in 1947 and attended East Texas State University from 1965 to 1969. Dorsey then spent his thirty seven year career as an airline pilot. This took Rob to virtually every country on the globe, forming a richness of life experience and giving him plenty of time to write. In 1992, he married Robin Phelps, an enthusiastic partnership that has endured undiminished until this day.
Robin is deeply involved with the editing and proofing of Rob‘s works. Rob retired from commercial aviation in 2005 to work at writing full time. He had previously spent twenty years as freelance and staff writer for various aviation magazines including an eight year stint with Sport Aviation. Rob made the jump from journalist to novelist and this book fits well with his earlier works. The Barsoom Pentalogy, the five volume series, is his first series of books to reach a publisher’s desk. Rob has a unique style that has been a favorite of thousands of readers over the years and has earned him five star ratings from a host of professional reviewers and amateur beta readers alike. Rob Dorsey lives and works in the verdant hills of Kentucky with his wife and dogs. He can be reached through his website RobDorsey.com.
Mark Blessington is an amateur actor and science educator turned narrator. Over the last 20 years, he performed in dozens of roles at local theaters and directed students to produce high quality theater and competitive submissions to the state theater festivals, earning numerous awards. With the enduring support of his wife, Rachel, and two children, Lily and Gabriel, he now lives in central Massachusetts where he provides end to end audio services, including narration, proofing, editing and mastering, specializing in science fiction and fantasy, science and technology, and technical writing.
I hope that you will check out Light Speed, as it already won a Readers’ Favorite award last year. I listened to the sample, and it seems to me that Mark Blessington does a really good job with the narration and bringing all the characters to life.
