Review: The Night Is Never Black by Doug Richardson, read by Tim DeKay

The Night Is Never Black is the fifth novel in the Lucky Dey Series of Mystery Thrillers by Doug Richardson and it was released in audiobook format in mid-April, almost 1 year after its original publication date.

As you may already know if you follow my reviews, I absolutely love this series, the lifelike characters in it, the vivid descriptions, the places, enhanced tenfold by the flowing writing style of Mr. Richardson and last, but not least, the fantastic performance Tim DeKay brings to the table each and every time he slips into Lucky’s shoes.

With The Night Is Never Black, Doug Richardson continues to delight, shock and entertain by sending our hero in a personal mission after a close person to him falls victim to a strange hit and run accident. But, as we already can expect, things are not what they appear to be at first glance and Lucky finds himself investigating a conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of city politics.

As I mentioned above, The Night Is Never Black sees the return of renowned actor and now rising narrator Tim DeKay as the person who best brings to life these beloved characters. He delivers another perfect performance and at the same time establishes himself in the listener’s mind as the only voice of Lucky Dey.

The Night Is Never Black is another great thriller filled with action and adrenaline featuring L.A. Cop Lucky Dey. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in this series that’s getting better and better with every new release.
