Ruby Red: The Zadok Series, Book 2 audiobook cover showing a red drawn male character surrounded by fire

Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! We continue our series of spotlight articles dedicated to the extremely promising The Zadok Series by talented and rising young adult fantasy writer Nikki Minty with Ruby Red, Book number two in this captivating saga.

Just like with the first novel, Pastel Pink – which I reviewed a few weeks ago, for Ruby Red the author goes all out and hires four award-winning narrators in order to bring this story to life for audiobooks listeners.

Khristine Hvam, Jodie Harris, James Patrick Cronin, and James Fouhey will keep everyone entertained for the 10 hours and a half of this audio production.

I suggest that we take a look at the Publisher’s Summary, and after that, I will tell you some interesting facts about our talented author and award-winning narrators.

Alex has called it quits and stormed off, leaving Harlow alone and vulnerable in the danger zone with little chance of survival and a broken heart.

Luckily, Jax finds her and brings her back to the caves. However, little does she know she’s returning with multiple souvenirs.

Standing out for all the wrong reasons has become Harlow’s specialty, and as the effects of her vertic switz tattoo set in and new issues are brought to light, she and her friends will find themselves in the line of fire with Rae and Electra.

Despite Jax’s attempts to neutralise the colour system, the Winter caves have become a death trap for Harlow, and Summer’s castle is no place for a Zeek. Harlow’s only sanctuary might be Spring’s Drake village, but her former ties to a Vallon are sure to cause friction with some of the residents.

Nikki Minty is the author of the Zadok series, a young adult, sci-fi/fantasy series. She is also an avid reader and particularly loves fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural elements, magical realism, thrillers, and romance. Amanda Hocking is her all-time favorite author, she has a huge collection of Monster High Dolls, and her favorite color is red.

James Patrick Cronin is an American audiobook narrator and stage actor. He is best known for his narration of approximately 200 audiobooks listed on Audible. His first audiobook narration credit was at the age of 12, opposite Christopher Lloyd in the book-on-tape recording of The Pagemaster. He has also played minor roles on television and has performed as a stage actor in the New York and east coast regional theatre scenes.

James is the son of actors Beatrice Colen and Patrick Cronin. James has been nominated for multiple Audie awards, including a double nomination in 2018 for his solo narration of Snake Eyes by John Conroe and an ensemble narration of Nevertheless We Persisted by Amy Oestreiche. He was an AudioFile Earphones Award winner for his narration of The Left Brain Speaks, The Right Brain Laughs by Ransom Stephens.
