Something to Tell You by David Edwards is out now on Audible
Hello again, dear Audiobooks Fans! I hope everyone is staying inside and safe, listening to a great audio production or reading a good book in these times of social distancing due to the terrible Coronavirus. In today’s post I want to shine a spotlight on a recently released audiobook that fits right into our current situation…
Something to Tell You is a contemporary Sci–Fi novel with Fantasy elements, written more like speculative fiction and philosophical science fiction by best-selling author David Edwards and narrated by BBC actor Martin Carroll. The audiobook is over 10 hours in duration and the publisher is Troubador Publishing Ltd.
Reading the Publisher’s Summary will reveal the following details about the story:
Something to Tell You follows the two families of Bert Leinster and his best friend, Sam Murray, as the earth comes under bombardment by a Higgs-boson-particle storm. The Central Control of the World council insists that survival depends on living underground, protected by the Envelope. As CCOW persuades humankind to hide in the Deeps, Bert cannot challenge CCOW nor comprehend why people cannot see the truth behind the lies.
Everything changes when he meets her. Lily, a plant who becomes his enemy in the battle to save humankind, to save you…although 99.9 percent of you is empty space. Do you deserve saving?
David Edwards previously published two anti-romance books under the pseudonym of Jack George Edmunson. He then published the historical novel The Ebb & Flow, before writing children’s fiction for his son – The Black Hand Gang, an ebook with electronic swap card game to encourage children to read. He currently lives in Switzerland.
David commented the following about Something to Tell You: I visited the Particle Collider underground at CERN and found the science of the Higgs Boson incomprehensible, the glue of the universe. It seems to me that we are truly nothing in the 7 predicted universes through space and time. Do we belong here? I have the answer…
Martin Carroll, the narrator, is a founder member of the Dickens Theatre Company. He most recently played Azaire/Captain Gray in the UK theatre tour of Birdsong. Previous roles have been in A Christmas Carol, Trials of Charles Dickens, as Van Helsing in Dracula, Rehearsal For Murder, Lark Rise to Candleford, Twelfth Night and Richard III. TV credits include The Bill, Silent Witness, The Alleyn Mysteries, Shergar – The Big Gamble, Minder, The Cleopatras and Joyce in June. Films include One Careful Owner, Intolerable Redemption and Little Shop of Horrors.
I have already started listening to Something to Tell You and I like it. I’ll post a review sometime this week. Until then stay home, stay safe, take care and listen with your heart!
