New Historical Adventure novel The End of Dreams by Bruce Graham, out now as audiobook narrated by Maggie Ross
Hello again, dear audiobooks friends. Today’s spotlight article is dedicated to The End of Dreams, a brand new historical fiction adventure audiobook by Canadian writer, poet, and playwright, Bruce Graham, and narrated by voice actor Maggie Ross. The audio production has just been published by Purple Porcupine Publishing.
The End of Dreams is set amidst the American Civil War and follows Meredith McBurnie, a brave woman as she embarks on a dangerous journey to find her brother who has deserted the Union army.
With a run time of a little over seven hours in duration and a talented narrator at the helm, this sounds very much like an adventure that could keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.

The End of Dreams is a gripping story of love and loss. It is 1864. Eighteen-year-old Meredith McBurnie from Nova Scotia, Canada, is working as a proofreader at a literary magazine in Portland, Maine. Her mother, however, has different plans for her daughter. Meredith’s brother Liam has deserted the Union Army amidst the American Civil War. Her frantic mother demands that Meredith go and find him or return home to look after the family.
Since childhood, Meredith and Liam have shared a special bond. Meredith is worried about her brother’s well-being and fate as an army deserter. It is an impossible task, but she feels compelled to fulfill her mother’s wishes and embarks on a dangerous journey that will change her life and the life of her family forever.
Bruce Graham is a Canadian writer, poet, and playwright. He is the author of eleven books and several short stories. Three of his books have been transformed into stage plays. Bruce‘s writing falls into two broad categories: historical fiction and humor. His characters are based on people from his childhood and have been set in and around his hometown of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia.
Prior to becoming a writer, Bruce had a long and illustrious career in broadcasting. Bruce is an honors graduate of the Radio and Television Arts program of Cambridge School in Boston. His work in broadcasting has earned him three prestigious awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Radio and Television News Directors Association, the Ohio State Award for journalistic excellence, and an Atlantic Journalism Award for his nightly television commentary “The Final Word”.
Along with writing poetry, Bruce enjoys gardening, reading, and theatre. Bruce lives in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, with his wife Helen.
Maggie Ross is a voice actor from Newport Beach, California who has a passion and reputation for bringing quality, creativity, and fun into her craft. Throughout her life, she has been an avid consumer of all forms of audio content and has developed keen ear and talent for audio production. Maggie is committed to creating something authentic, compelling, and unique for each project she is presented with.
Before becoming a voice actor, she was a producer for a boutique agency for 9 years along with co-founding a fashion brand with her husband called MN3. Like many others, the pandemic caused her to re-examine where her passion truly lies. Since then, she has used her valuable skills and experience to carve a new path as a voice actor. She is now full time in the voiceover business and is loving every minute of it!
