Audiobook spotlight – First Strike: The Forsaken, Book 1, by Eddy Young
Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! In today’s spotlight article I want to draw your attention towards First Strike, book number one in The Forsaken series of fantasy novels by Eddy Young. The audio production is more than nine hours in duration, it’s self-published by the author and the narrator is Colin Brown.
Do you like The Hunger Games or The Maze Runner but want a cast of characters in their late teens or early twenties? Does the fantasy and science fiction genre intrigue you? Are you a fan of RPG stories and adventures? Then The Forsaken could be just perfect for you!
About the story, we know that twenty-one-year-old Luke Edwards is struggling to cope with the death of his parents and the loss of his best friend. Shortly after losing those close to him, he chooses to take matters into his own hands to help those in need. Several months after living in the slums of a city ravaged by poverty and food rations running low, Luke stumbles upon a stranger who rekindles his desire to continue his promise to avenge those he loved. With a renewed purpose, a world revolution is ignited in the hearts of millions versus the wicked faction known as the Children of Iscar. The revolution begins today!
Born and raised in San Diego since 1996, Eddy Young graduated from San Diego State University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. Young drew inspiration from Orwell’s 1984 and The Hunger Games to write The Forsaken. His favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird which also inspired him to write and continue exploring some of its themes. I recommend you check out his website for The Forsaken series.
Colin Brown is a young professional voice actor who has narrated over 30 books to ACX. He narrated countless e-learning and corporate tutorials for various companies, and he works from an industry-standard home studio.
Review for First Strike will be available soon on my blog, but until then, take care, stay safe, and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!
