Storming Venice: Venice Trilogy, Book 2 depicting some buildings seen from the top down

Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! Today I will tell you about the second book in the Venice trilogy of suspenseful romance novels by Anna Erikssön Bendewald. The audiobook version of Storming Venice is almost 11 hours and a half in duration, the Publisher is Hudson-Ivy Press, while renowned actor and audiobook narrator Kristen Sieh brings this story and its characters to life once again.

From the Publisher’s Summary we learn that part two of the Venice Trilogy begins three weeks after Salvio Scortini’s rampage through the calles and canals of the floating city…which is indeed floating since the acqua alta season is drenching everyone. The Verona family struggles to keep calm and carry on, but the pressure is building as the secret holding the family members hostage unravels. Raphielli Scortini thinks she’s being watched, and the anxiety of keeping her monstrous husband locked away in a friend’s basement is wearing on her. She’s through with being a victim and in the process of reinventing herself, when she stumbles upon something inside her palazzo that could provoke the Vatican to wage a holy war.

Anna Erikssön Bendewald is the CEO of Hudson-Ivy Press and author of Meet Me At Père Lachaise a dishy self-guided walking tour of the most visited cemetery in the world and her Venice Trilogy takes the destination thriller genre back to the time of Hitchcockian suspense where the reader knows more than the characters and tension builds to delicious heights.

Anna has been a fan of Tony award-winning Broadway performer and House of Cards + Orange Is the New Black + Boardwalk Empire actress Kristen Sieh for years and fortuitously Ms. Sieh’s schedule allowed her to bring The Venice Trilogy to life with a riveting performance in which she pulled out some of her more impressive but lesser-known skills like her fluency in French and Italian!

I already started listening to Storming Venice and I can tell you that the writing style and the narration are as great as for the first audiobook in this series. I will return with a full review next week, but until then take care, stay safe, and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!
