Drinking from the Trough, A Veterinarian’s Memoir, by Mary E. Carlson is out now in Audiobook Format
Hello again, dear Audiobooks lovers! As I am a very big fan of animals and pets in general, It is my pleasure to let you all know that Mary Carlson, DVM, MA, CVA has recently released Drinking from the Trough, A Veterinarian’s Memoir, in audiobook format.
From the Publisher’s Summary, we learn that Mary Carlson didn’t plan to become a veterinarian, let alone the caretaker of many cats, two huskies and horses (some with manners, some without). A suburban Chicago girl, she only knew about the American West from her uncle’s stories. But thanks to him, she moved to Colorado for college – and after falling in love with a veterinary student, settled there for good.
Her husband’s work inspired her to leave teaching, become a vet herself, and open a feline-exclusive clinic. Along the way, there were grueling years of vet school, a shattered hip, an enduring love, illness, and death – and the rediscovery that life, especially one filled with delightful animals, is worth living.
Mary Carlson, DVM, MA, CVA has been a physical education and science teacher, a community volunteer and school board member, a lecturer in Anatomy at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, a guest researcher studying Yersinia pestis (plague) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and a veterinarian specializing in cats through her feline-exclusive practice. She is internationally certified in veterinary acupuncture.
Mary is a rabid Chicago Cubs fan, an avid horsewoman, enthusiastic dog owner, and, according to her cats, excellent support staff. She is active on Facebook and channels her love of and experience in veterinary medicine through her blog.
The audiobook version of Drinking from the Trough by Mary E. Carlson is over 9 and a half hours long, and it is performed by Sara Morsey and the publisher is She Writes Press.
I will post a review for this audiobook as soon as possible as I am very eager to finish listening to it.
