New YA novel Fran: The Second Time Around by Amy Bernstein, available now as audiobook narrated by Stephanie Richardson
Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! As you well know, I am always really glad to be able to bring you news about new audiobook releases. Today I want to help you discover a captivating young adult novel. Fran: The Second Time Around is written beautifully by former award-winning journalist Amy Bernstein, and the audio production is expertly narrated by voiceover artist Stephanie Richardson.
Although originally published in 2020, we are always glad to see such promising stories making their way to our favorite format. With a run time of almost 6 hours, this should be a captivating tale for young adults and grown-ups alike.
Let’s take a look at the Publisher’s Summary and after that, I will help you make the acquaintance of our author and narrator.
Fran Singer is a regular eighth grader relishing her role in the school play, enjoying hanging out with her best friend, and thinking of ways to steer clear of her annoying little brother…when suddenly, in a matter of seconds, everything changes.
An unintentional tragic accident with major consequences shoots her out of her ordinary world into one racked with guilt, shame, and complete alienation.
Starting over after all that is not easy…but is it possible? Will her life be better, the second time around?
Amy Bernstein writes for the page, the stage, and forms in between. Her literary preoccupations include rooting for the underdog and putting ordinary people in difficult situations to see how they wriggle out. Her novels include The Potrero Complex (Regal House Publishing, Aug. 2022) and The Nighthawkers (The Wild Rose Press, forthcoming), and Fran, The Second Time Around (Amazon).
Amy is a former award-winning journalist and speechwriter as well as a playwright. I encourage you to check out her website at amywrites.live.
Winning first place at a storytelling festival as an 11-year-old, narrator Stephanie Richardson knew she was destined for life behind a microphone. Nearly 20 years later, with a background in theatre, professional vocal training, teaching music to children, and spending every minute in the car with an audiobook plugged in, Stephanie finally started her dream career of audiobook narrator and voice over artist.
While not enjoying a book, she can be found playing zoo-keeper to her 4 rambunctious children, playing nerdy board games, or talking to the plants. Visit her website: stephanienarrates.com.
