Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! Today’s spotlight article is dedicated to Going Back Home, a promising Amish Romance written by Hannah Miller, a well-versed author in the Amish way of life.

The audio production is a little under two hours in duration and it is performed by talented narrator Trudi Knoedler. This is not my first audiobook with Trudi Knoedler behind the mic and I am always looking forward to her performance because she manages to bring any story to life in a pleasant and entertaining way.

Let’s take a look at the Publisher’s Summary in order to find out some details about the story and after that I will introduce you to our narrator and author.

Forced to leave her community with her family, Clara Burkholder is cast into a miserable life of work and drudgery. She misses being Amish and longs to return. When she hears that Jonas, her childhood friend, has returned to the community, Clara becomes even more desperate. She longs to reach out but can’t find a way. Not until tragedy strikes.

Jonas Garber is putting his foot down. After growing up in the Amish community and being forced to relocate with his family, he has returned and is determined to remain. His father thinks otherwise and has visited several times to convince him to return, but Jonas knows he is right. Or is he?

Disaster looms, and Jonas’ convictions are shaken. He needs comfort, which comes in the form of a letter from his friend Clara whom he’s never stopped loving. But things have changed; Clara is no longer Amish. Can they find even ground? Or will their present circumstances keep them apart forever?

Trudi Knoedler has been a voice actress since 2015, doing primarily audiobooks using many characters and accents for fiction, and straight, personal and intelligent delivery for non-fiction. She has produced 20 audiobooks during the past 7 years and is also a VO actress. Although she is most often cast to do historical fiction or suspense, Going Back Home was of particular interest to her because her family were Germans from Romania whose old-fashioned style of German speech is not too far removed from Amish. When not producing audiobooks, she enjoys the role of “Oma” to her two spirited granddaughters.

Hannah Miller has been writing Amish Romance for the past seven years. Long intrigued by the Amish way of life, Hannah has traveled the United States, visiting different Amish communities. She treasures her Amish friends and enjoys visiting with them. Hannah makes her home in Indiana, along with her husband, Robert. Together, they have three children and seven grandchildren. Hannah loves to ride bikes in the sunshine. And if it’s warm enough for a picnic, you’ll find her under the nearest tree! Visit her at: www.ticahousepublishing.com
