Mystery Thriller Expert Witness, Wrongful Death by Judy Tarver springs to life as an Audiobook, narrated by Pamela Almand
Hello again, dear Audiobooks friends! In today’s article I want to draw your attention to a new murder mystery which you can finish easily in a moody November afternoon. Released in audiobook format three years after its original publication date, Expert Witness, Wrongful Death by Judy Tarver springs to life as an Audiobook in a beautiful performance by award-winning narrator Pamela Almand.
The audio production is just a little over 5 hours in duration, but it promises a lot of twists and turns. And, to give you one more reason to consider picking it up, I can tell you that Expert Witness: Wrongful Death has been nominated for the 2020 Voice Art Award for Mystery/Thrillers.
Let’s check out the Publisher Summary and after that, we will talk more about the this talented author and narrator team.
Three Beech 1900 aircraft crash mysteriously. Josey Cantwell, aviation consultant and expert witness, and her partner, Brad Smith, former army aviator and CIA operative, are called in to help investigate the accidents.
While reviewing the logbooks of an employee who died in a Cessna 172 on his way back to work, Josey stumbles into a shocking conspiracy between the vice president of Viscount Air Transport and an entrepreneur in San Salvador.
The action never stops when word gets out that Josey might have discovered incriminating evidence that will blow the conspiracy wide open.
Judy Tarver is the author of Expert Witness: Wrongful Death and Flight Plan to the Flight Deck: Strategies for a Pilot Career and several magazine articles that have appeared in Aviation for Women, Flight Training, Air Line Pilot and Airline Pilot Careers.
She is currently President of Pilot Counseling Services. She and her team help coach pilots as they transition in their airline career paths. She has been successfully conducting interview preparation services for 18 years.
For over 40 years Judy has worked as an aviation consultant, writer, speaker and expert witness specializing in the field of pilot selection and recruitment. Her career started with American Airlines where she was responsible for facilitating the hiring of over 7,100 airline pilots. From AA, she became the President of a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Air Line Pilots Assn (Universal Pilot Application Service), followed by Vice President of FAPA.aero. She has consulted with several major air carriers along with government and industry aviation associations. She has been on two FAA Aviation Rule Making committees on pilot selection and has presented before organizations such as the NTSB, FAA, DOD and DOJ.
As always, I asked the author how she was able to find a voice for her audiobook, and this time the response was really interesting.
My first novel, Expert Witness: Wrongful Death, got an excellent “must-read!” review in Air Line Pilot Magazine and among the many congratulatory messages was one from Capt. Pamela Mitchell-Almand. In her LinkedIn profile, I read that she was an accomplished narrator as well as pilot. I immediately contacted her since I was just considering releasing my novel in audiobook format.
In the course of an introductory Zoom session (which lasted almost two hours and resulted in my hiring Pam to narrate Expert Witness) we realized we had actually crossed paths years earlier! She had interviewed with American Airlines when I was involved in pilot recruitment and though she ultimately went with Northwest Airlines, her younger brother followed her a few years later and I hired him as a pilot for American! I’ve been friends with Pam’s brother since then, proving the small world theory is even stranger than fiction!
Pam walked me through the process of producing an audiobook and we are both thrilled to have Expert Witness: Wrongful Death nominated for the 2020 Voice Art Award for Mystery/Thrillers.
I’d say that this is definitely more than just a lucky coincidence!
Pamela Almand, is an Audible Approved Producer, and a winner for multiple Voice Arts Awards and the coveted AudioFile’s Earphones Award, but also an Audie Award nominee.
As A former 747 captain for Northwest Airlines, Pam’s low-pitched voice served her well coming from the flight deck to calm and reassure her passengers. Now, with over a decade of professional award-winning voice acting experience, she provides voiceover and narration with not only calm professionalism and authority, but also conversational, friendly Mom-warmth…or smoky, sultry, low-pitched smoothness… all the way to dynamic and bright energy for infomercials and CTAs!
I really enjoy Pamela Almand‘s narration style and that’s why I instantly jumped at the opportunity to review this audiobook. I already started listening to it and will post another article next week, but until then take care, stay safe and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!
