Steve Edwardes releases The Searcher, Detective Inspector Mark Fairgreaves, Book 1 as Audiobook
Hey, dear Audiobooks Fans! Just another quick post to let you all know that Steve Edwardes has released The Searcher, Detective Inspector Mark Fairgreaves, Book 1 in Audiobook format. The production is narrated by David Thorpe, 9 hours and 25 minutes in duration and it was published by SHS Publishing.
Yesterday, when I received the book, I just started it with the intention of listening to a few minutes in order to see if I like it, and guess what, I stopped after three hours, just because my wife was ringing at the door and I had to let her in. So yeah, interesting story, great narration.
From the Publisher’s Summary we find out that it’s 1665. Silas is killing plague victims for fun; the ready supply of victims means that he can satiate his desires easily. In 2015, at the Crossrail dig in London, two bodies are found, just as a spate of murders takes place. As the police rush to put together the links between the two, the modern-day serial-killer fights to stay ahead of them enough to kill again. DI Mark Fairgreaves and his team must work together to put together the pieces before they lose one of their own.
As I mentioned above, a great narrator performs The Searcher.
David Thorpe was born in Sheffield, grew up on the Isle of Wight, and has lived in London (mostly East) all his adult life. He has appeared in numerous plays in rep and on tour, most recently as The Fool in a production of King Lear directed by Jonathan Miller.
Twice a member of the BBC Radio Drama Company, he has been heard in over a hundred radio plays and narrated over 400 audiobooks. David has also conceived and performed in two one-man shows: Confessions of a Toytown Revolutionary and This Way Up! He is the current President of Voice Actors’ Equity.
I will post a review for The Searcher in the upcoming weeks. Until then, listen with your heart!
