Review: Three O’Clock Séance, Rebecca Mayfield Mysteries, book 3, by Joanne Pence
Three O’Clock Séance is the third novel in the excellent Rebecca Mayfield series of romantic mysteries beautifully written by USA Today best-selling and award-winning author Joanne Pence.
I have listened to a lot of audiobooks from this author and I always enjoyed each and every one of them.
Joanne is very talented, she completely captures my imagination thanks to the above-mentioned beautiful writing style, but also due to the endearing characters she brings into the reader’s heart with vivid and detailed descriptions.
The first two books in this series are very good, and this one is actually even better! It’s always nice to see an author improving on their work and evolving with every new release.
The story follows, once again, San Francisco Homicide Inspector Rebecca Mayfield and her romantic interest Richie Amalfi, as they team up once more to investigate the suspicious events befalling the unlucky clients of a local medium.
As Rebecca has always been fascinated by the paranormal, she goes against her better judgment and is pulled, alongside Richie, into another extremely dangerous adventure. Three O’Clock Séance is definitely one more excellent addition to this feel-good series. It has everything: a charming medium, stolen artifacts, a ghost, FBI agents, an endearing doggy, subtle romance, mystery, hidden secrets, comedic relief, murder, and the return of our beloved characters.
Acclaimed voiceover artist, news anchor, and audiobook narrator Kristi Burns returns for a third and last time to the Rebecca Mayfield Mysteries and delivers another great performance. She reads at a breakneck pace, she expertly acts all the dialogues and matches the story’s intensity with emotion and passion.
I’m sad to see her not returning for the next books in this extremely promising series, but I’m sure that the new narrator will do a good job as well. I am highly recommending these audiobooks to all those who are looking for a good time and want to cuddle up with a cozy romantic murder mystery.
