Stealing Venice, Book 1: The Venice Trilogy audiobook cover depicting Venice cityscape

Hello again, dear audiobooks friends! In today’s spotlight article I want to draw your attention to Stealing Venice by Anna Bendewald. This is the first book in The Venice Trilogy series of romantic suspense novels and has been released a few months ago in audiobook format. Actor and narrator Kristen Sieh brings this story to life for the audio production and this first adventure has a run time of a little over 11 hours.

Below you can take a look at the Publisher’s Summary for Stealing Venice and also find out more about the author and the narrator.

Nothing is what it appears to be in this lush destination thriller that takes listeners behind the ornate doors of the most secretive palazzos in Venice, romantic chateaus in France and the Vatican’s halls of power. Contessa Giselle Verona – the art world’s current “It Girl” is happily absorbed in her creation of dangerous sculptures that have gotten her banned from museums, but have collectors reaching for their checkbooks. Her life begins to spin out of control after she’s thrown up against another artist at a murder scene, and a powerful man she’s never met decides to wage war against her in-laws. This suspenseful game of cat and mouse ricochets around sumptuous locales as family secrets draw in the Vatican, the Mafia and threatens the foundations of floating city itself.

“Anna Erikssön Bendewald takes you away with colorful characters and plenty of suspense. Seductions and power struggles propel you deeper into this entertaining romp even as you know there’s a bomb ticking away – and his name is Salvio Scortini – a complex man who could use some anger management classes or lithium?!?”

Anna Erikssön Bendewald is the CEO of Hudson-Ivy Press and author of Meet Me At Père Lachaise a dishy self-guided walking tour of the most visited cemetery in the world and her Venice Trilogy takes the destination thriller genre back to the time of Hitchcockian suspense where the reader knows more than the characters and tension builds to delicious heights.

Anna has been a fan of Tony award-winning Broadway performer and House of Cards + Orange Is the New Black + Boardwalk Empire actress Kristen Sieh for years and fortuitiously Ms Sieh’s schedule allowed her to bring The Venice Trilogy to life with a riveting performance in which she pulled out some of her more impressive but lesser-known skills like her fluency in French and Italian!

I already started listening to Stealing Venice and I can tell you that I like the writing style and the narration a lot! I will return with a full review next week, but until then take care, stay safe and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!
