Ice: The Ice Trilogy, Book 1 by Kevin Tinto - a book cover depicting a glacier

Hello again, dear Audiobooks Friends! I am super excited to let you all know that Ice, the first novel in the international best-selling Ice Trilogy by Kevin Tinto, has recently been released in audiobook format. The audio production is performed by award-winning voice-over artist Pamela Almand, it’s 11 hours in duration and it is self-published by the author.

Just to tickle your interest, I can tell you that Ice has been named the Winner in the action/adventure category of the 2016 Next Generation Indie Book Awards and has sold more than 400,000 Kindle and paperback versions!

The Publisher’s Summary reveals only the tip of the iceberg for this immersive adventure that lies ahead of us:

Archaeologist Leah Andrews stumbles upon something inexplicable in southwestern New Mexico: Inside a dark cavern lies an undiscovered, Native American cliff dwelling abandoned for 800 years. While twisting through one of the narrow underground passageways, Leah’s flashlight illuminates the remains of a violent massacre.

Ancient human remains – all slaughtered in a long-ago massacre – cover the cavern floor, along with several brilliantly colored, granite crystals. The rare gems are native to only one place on earth: A frozen mountain range in central Antarctica.

Could Native Americans have traveled to the frozen continent of Antarctica 800 years before the first known human exploration? If so, how? And why? There’s only one person who can get Leah to those mountains in Antarctica: Her estranged husband and climbing guide Jack Hobson. At their destination, they make a stunning discovery that will change history and science forever.

But Leah’s team is far from the only interested party. As her secret makes its way to the highest levels of government, a race to seize the Russian-claimed Antarctic territory brings the world to the brink of nuclear conflict.

The narrator, Pamela Almand, is an Audible Approved Producer, and a winner for multiple Voice Arts Awards and the coveted AudioFile’s Earphones Award, but also an Audie Award nominee.

As A former 747 captain for Northwest Airlines, Pam’s low-pitched voice served her well coming from the flight deck to calm and reassure her passengers. Now, with over a decade of professional award-winning voice acting experience, she provides voiceover and narration with not only calm professionalism and authority, but also conversational, friendly Mom-warmth…or smoky, sultry, low-pitched smoothness… all the way to dynamic and bright energy for infomercials and CTAs!

I have already started listening to Ice, I already love it, it reminds me of the old, classic Clive Cussler adventures and I’ll be sure to post a review for the audiobook early next week. But, until then take care, stay safe and don’t forget, always listen with your heart!

  1. Hope you enjoyed it, Victor! I had the most fun narrating it and LOVED the characters! And just a tiny correction in your excellent bio… I am an AudioFile Magazine Earphones winner, and an Audie Award nominee!

Just a tantalizing hint for the next two ICE books… in my prep, I had to find people to help me with not only the Navaho language, but Lakhota, Russian, Turkish… and Kurdish! Jack and Leah are globe-trotting again and although speaking those languages when I had no idea what I was saying, was a narrator’s nightmare, It was fascinating to meet the native speakers who helped me!

Thank you for that correction, it has been fixed. Yes, I sure did enjoy it, the review is already available. Hope you like it as well and please reach out when the next two audiobooks are available. Congrats for a fantastic job.
