Embark on a contemplative journey in the imaginative poem If I Were a Snowflake by Rodrigo Dobry, available now as audiobook
Hello again, dear audiobooks friends!
First of all, I want to say Happy New Year to each and everyone of you! Wishing you a great year, filled with health and love, meaningful friendships, and accomplishments on all levels. In our first spotlight article of 2023 I want to draw your attention to If I Were a Snowflake, a wonderfully written poem by Rodrigo Dobry.
Although poetry is not something that I review or cover on a regular basis, I love this form of art and I’m always happy to highlighted on my blog and to experience it in all its wonderful forms. This unique piece of poetry is available now as a very short audiobook, just 29 minutes in duration, and it is narrated by Ryan Gagliardi.
According to the Publisher’s Summary, If I Were a Snowflake takes the listener on a contemplative journey across several regions of the Earth, providing glimpses into the lives of people living in wintry climates. The text is meticulously metered and rhymed, yet maintains a natural flow. This highly imaginative work, told from the point of view of snowflakes, peers briefly yet compassionately into some of the countless unique inner worlds of human beings.
Rodrigo Dobry writes fiction and poetry. His first audiobook “If I Were a Snowflake” is unusual in many ways: it is very short, the text is metered and rhymed, the “plot” moves quickly from one character to another, and the story is imaginatively told from the viewpoint of snowflakes.
Dobry is passionate about writing. He delves deeply into topics, conducting extensive research before putting pen to paper. At the same time, he freely enlists his imagination in endeavoring to get to the heart of a matter.
When writing, Mr, Dobry explores many aspects of language: not only the meaning – although that is foremost – but also rhyme, meter, alliteration, and even the idiosyncrasies of English.
The author understands that most people lead busy lives. He strives to write succinct, meaningful text that is respectful of listeners’ time.
Mr. Dobry holds Bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and engineering, as well as a Master’s degree in consciousness and transformative studies. He is fascinated by consciousness and its many transformations. At the same time, he appreciates the clarity and precision of mathematics.
A lifelong music lover, Dobry has composed pieces for piano, voices, and electronic instruments. He finds inspiration in all styles of music. He also likes cats.
Ryan Gagliardi is a [New York State] Capital Region native, originally from Latham, NY. He has performed in theatre, independent film, and as a news anchor on AM radio.
In addition to audiobooks, Ryan has worked with a variety of voiceover clients ranging from Jiffy Lube to Bassett Healthcare Network. His next goal is breaking into cartoon/animation voice over projects.
I have already listened to If I Were a Snowflake and will do that a few more times before writing a full review. After the first listen I can say that I like it and I’m sure I will understand even more after listening again. But, until then, take care, stay safe and don’t forget, always listen with your heart.
We hope that you enjoyed this article and, if you did, that you will share it with your friends on social media.
I also post reviews or articles at the author, narrator, or publisher’s request, so, if you are in need of assistance in finding the perfect narrator for your book or just want to have a review on my blog, do get in touch.
