Review: An Honest Man by Michael Koryta, performed by Robert Petkoff
An Honest Man is the latest unputdownable action thriller from award-winning and New York Times best-selling author Michael Koryta. The story follows Israel Pike, an honest man with a lot of secrets, who one day stumbles upon seven men murdered aboard their yacht. Regarded as a prime suspect, Israel has few options and decidedly no friends. As the investigation continues, Israel’s troubled past is drawn from the shadows into the public eye and things get complicated very fast.
An Honest Man is filled with the same level of attention to detail, flawless writing, true-to-life characters, and fascinating scenarios that only the fantastic author of Those Who Wish Me Dead is capable of delivering.
One of the best and highly regarded narrators in the audiobook industry, Robert Petkoff, delivers another superb performance with An Honest Man. He keeps the action going, the story flowing and at the same time, he manages to bring all the lifelike characters into sharp contrast in the listener’s mind.
His performance is so good that at times I was really freaked out by the unsettling lines of dialogue.
Gripping from the first chapter to the last, superbly written, vividly portrayed, and immensely entertaining, An Honest Man is one of the best stories I experienced so far this year!
