Review: Prodigal Son by Gregg Hurwitz, narrated by Scott Brick
Prodigal Son is the sixth novel in the best selling Evan Smoak series of heart stopping thrillers by award-winning author Gregg Hurwitz. Evan continues to steal the spotlight from Jack Ryan, Jack Reacher, Jason Bourne and James Bond, redefining once again what it means to be a modern hero.
In this latest adventure, the renown operative known as Orphan X steps out of retirement in order to take care of some family business. But, as always, what should have been a seamless operation proves out to be a race against death.
In my humble opinion, Greg Hurwitz is one of the best writers out there. He captures the readers’ attention with a flowing and literary writing style, while his characters feel real and alive.
Audiobooks industry legend and award winning narrator Scott Brick steps back into Evan’s shoes with another perfect performance. Although he brings to life almost all the legendary characters that I mentioned above, I have the distinct impression that he enjoys Evan the most. Reading in a professional voice, infusing the action with emotion and urgency, Scott is one of the best in the industry and I cannot imagine who else could bring everyone to life in a better way.
Fast paced, intense, unputdownable, gipping and addictive, Prodigal Son represents another blockbuster from the winning team formed by Greg and Scott! If you love thrillers, you cannot miss any of the books in this absolutely fantastic series.
