Review: Three Graves by Zack Kaplan, narrated by Maxwell Hamilton

Three Graves audiobook cover depicting 3 freshly dug graves on a red background

Three Graves is an absolute blast from beginning to end! Fast-paced, funny, bloody, gory, over-the-top, and truly captivating, Zack Kaplan has written a story in the style of Quentin Tarantino‘s Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill, with a little Reservoir Dogs thrown in for good measure.

It’s a classic revenge story fueled by hate and the need for vengeance. But be aware that the gloves are off when it comes to language and violence and that the time is not always flowing forward, so pay close attention to the narrative!

Corrupt cops, ruthless mobsters, dangerous henchmen, murders, killings, perverts, spoiled kids, guns, knives, swords, grenades, twists, turns, dark humor, brilliant writing, and a lot of pop fiction references combine in Three Graves in order to assure the highest level of satisfaction for the reader.

Director, producer, musician and award-winning actor Maxwell Hamilton delivers a superb performance for Three Graves. He sets a breakneck pace throughout this insane adventure, never missing a bit, always infusing the action with just the right amount of urgency and drama. His voices are spot on and help the listener easily differentiate between the characters. Speaking about the characters, you will find here some of the most colorful and memorable in recent memory. This narrator is the perfect choice for such a bloody good audiobook.

Quentin Tarantino fans will find Three Graves viscerally entertaining! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves over-the-top stories, flawed characters, and crazy situations. I really hope to see Zack Kaplan releasing more books and I hope that he will stick with this amazing narrator, as well. Also, I’d say that Three Graves would look great, by the way, as a movie!
