Review: Discovery of the Five Senses by K.N. Smith, narrated by Glenn Steinbaum
Discovery of the Five Senses is the first entertaining book in the promising Urban Boys series, a new young adult fantasy audiobook saga from K.N. Smith, an award-winning author and advocate of literacy and arts programs throughout the world.
The story follows five friends living in a small town that unbeknownst to anyone has been chosen by unknown powers to be the battlefield where the war between good and evil will take place. Sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell become super-powers for the teen friends and only by harnessing these newly found abilities they may have a fighting chance to save their town and maybe the entire world.
I really enjoyed the time spent with this well written, captivating and entertaining YA fantasy story filled with action, mystery, cinematic confrontations and unforgettable characters.
The audiobook version of Discovery of the Five Senses is flawlessly narrated by Glenn Steinbaum, a renowned Los Angeles singer, voiceover artist, and narrator. His excellent performance in combination with a great audio production that features both music and sound effects ensure that the listener gets the highest level of immersion possible and a riveting narrative experience. I think that Glenn was the perfect choice as the voice for this captivating story and I love how he managed to bring all the characters to life.
If you like well written fantasy stories featuring colorful characters, harrowing adventures, extreme action, vivid descriptions and epic battles, I highly recommend that you check out Discovery of the Five Senses! I will keep an ear out for the second audiobook in this extremely promising series and on any new releases by this talented author.
